Staying true to an undying commitment to her craft, she has acquired her Master of Fine Arts in Acting with the Class of 2011 at The New School for Drama in New York City. During her short time in NYC she has already begun a promising career and is making a name for herself in the performing arts world and in the Indigenous arts community.

Tanis's other passion is strength training, nutrition and health. She holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Alberta with a focus in Physical Activity and Sport Performance. She is proud to say she has graduated with both Wayne Gretzky ('00) and Tony Kushner ('11) who each received honorary degrees the same years she completed hers.

Tanis lives out her passion for performing with tremendous support from her family and with a duty to Louis Riel, who is quoted as saying, "My people will sleep for one hundred years, but when they awake, it will be the artists who give them their spirit back."
